Franco Molinari

 

Franco Molinari graduated in music (Double Bass) from the Venetia Conservatory in 1997 and from the Conservatori del Liceu (Barcelona) in 2003. He obtained also a licenciate in Literature and Art History at the University of Udine (Italy). He attended masterclasses given by bass players like Ubaldo fioravanti, Andrew Ackerman and Albert Bocini.

Since 1997 he has lived in Catalonia. Besides his activity as a freelance musician (playing with the main orchestras and ensembles), he is teaching Double Bass at the Vic Conservatoire. Interested in ethnic music, he is a member of the band Nébeda , the flamenco group “El Paño Moruno” and the sefardi music ensemble Mashalà . With Nébeda he recorded his first CD “ Flaugier s/n “ for the Ventilador label in 2003. Also in 2003 he took part as a musician and composer in the theatre play “La tendra amiga”, based on poems by the Catalan writer Carles Riba, touring all over the country.
